FAQs

  • The Whole Health movement emerged as a transformative model of care pioneered by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and later recognized by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM).

Unlike traditional healthcare models that focus solely on disease management, Whole Health prioritizes what matters most to individuals: aligning health goals with mission, aspiration, and purpose. The VA’s adoption of Whole Health demonstrated significant improvements in patient outcomes, including reduced opioid use, lower healthcare costs, and improved overall well-being.

The NASEM report further validated the effectiveness of this approach, emphasizing that true well-being extends beyond symptom reduction to include meaning, connection, and proactive self-care.

As Whole Health coaching gains traction, it is shaping the next frontier of healthcare, one that integrates behavioral change science, lifestyle medicine, and personalized well-being strategies.

  • Workshops are designed based on adult learning principles, emphasizing highly engaging, experiential learning for maximum impact. While there will be brief slide presentations, the focus will be on interactive activities, including self-reflection, small-group discussions, and hands-on planning to ensure a meaningful and practical experience.

  • The recommended number of workshop attendees is approximately 10-12 participants.

  • A Whole Health 1-Day Workshop benefits anyone looking to enhance well-being, prevent burnout, and realign with their purpose.

Healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and allied health providers, can gain tools to manage stress and sustain resilience. Educators and corporate leaders can improve work-life balance and performance through mindful self-care. First responders and caregivers, who often prioritize others, will learn strategies to maintain their own health. Entrepreneurs, nonprofit leaders, and wellness professionals can explore ways to integrate whole health principles into their daily lives, ensuring long-term fulfillment and vitality.

No matter the profession, this workshop supports a sustainable path to well-being.

  • While both group health coaching and Whole Health workshops support personal well-being, they differ in structure, purpose, and depth of engagement.

Group Health Coaching is an ongoing, interactive process that helps participants clarify their personal health goals, identify obstacles, and take sustainable steps toward change—guided by a trained health coach. The group format fosters shared accountability, peer support, and collective problem-solving. Sessions are typically part of a multi-week series and are tailored to participants’ evolving needs and goals. Group coaching is highly personalized and emphasizes long-term behavior change through reflection, goal setting, and continuous support.

Whole Health Workshops, on the other hand, are structured educational experiences that introduce key concepts from the Whole Health approach. These may include topics such as the Circle of Health, mindful awareness, lifestyle practices (e.g., movement, nutrition, sleep), and identifying what matters most to each individual. Workshops are often shorter in duration (e.g., 60–120 minutes), designed to raise awareness, build foundational knowledge, and inspire self-directed exploration.

In short, workshops educate and inspire, while group coaching supports personalized change over time.
